Pinky Webb joins 'Mornings@ANC'

MANILA, Philippines - After taking a short break, broadcast journalist Pinky Webb is back on air via "Mornings@ANC," the morning show of the ABS-CBN News Channel.

"Thank you. I'm really happy to be back. I was excited, I had six hours of sleep. So I was so early," Webb told her co-hosts Paolo Abrera and Ron Cruz.

Webb, who used to anchor "Dateline Philippines," officially joined "Mornings@ANC" on Monday as she switched places with veteran broadcast journalist Gigi Grande.

Grande joined TJ Manotoc on "Dateline Philippines," which is ANC's longest running newscast. Webb took a few months' break after leaving the ABS-CBN's early morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda" and radio dzMM program "Tambalang Failon at Webb."

In a recent interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Webb said that aside from "Mornings@ANC," she will start her reporting job on ABS-CBN's flagship newscast "TV Patrol."

Currently, Webb is also part of "XXX," ABS-CBN's investigative news and crime show.

After first airing on ABS-CBN from 1999 to 2006, ABS-CBN News Channel is bringing back “Pipol.” Anchored by Ces Orena-Drilon, “Pipol” on ANC promises thirty minutes of exhaustive and intimate examination of powerful and ordinary people who are making a difference in their respective friends and communities. “It always helps when you get to know that person beyond the sound bytes and the news item. You’ll know where he grew up, what makes the person tick as well as his principles. Part fo what we do is inspire people so when they finish watching the show, they can learn from how people lead their lives,” says Drilon. “Pipol” premieres on October 10, Monday at 9:30pm.

During the press conference for the launch of “Pipol” on ANC, the award-winning journalist admitted that she is thinking about coming out with a book recounting her own experience on abduction and how she decided not to pursue her kidnappers anymore. “I would like to tell my story someday in a book when I have the time to write about my experience. At first I felt compelled to solve my kidnapping, to go after them. but it’s really very difficult, even the military can’t do it. I thought that I should not be the one to go after them. Perhaps I feel a compulsion to just meet with those who have had the same experience and to share notes but not really a sort of advocacy,” she shares.

Distinguished broadcast journalist Pinky Webb joins the morning news and talk program “Mornings@ANC,” which reports on local and international news, technology, sports, health, trends, and entertainment. With her experience as a news anchor and radio commentator, Webb wants to add more interviews and meticulous discussions on current events to the jam-packed two-hour program with co-anchors Ron Cruz, Ginger Conejero, and Paolo Abrera. “ Here I’ll become a full-time reporter as well so I’m excited in a way to be able to discuss it with my co-anchors and even to the viewers and interview on location in any story I try to cover. Hopefully a more in-depth perspective on that. It’s also information I want to be able to disseminate, on a faster pace and in a relevant way. Parang kung ano yugn gusto ko sanang malaman during the day, mabigay ko doon sa tao. Yun yung gusto ko gawin,” Webb adds.

Webb admits that she is proud to be joining the “Mornings@ANC” team after being in ABS-CBN’s morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda.” “We want to make sure, as ANC has always been the leader of making news 24/7, that in ‘Mornings @ANC,’ we will be able to deliver the most recent stories the viewers want to know, hear, and find out so they can trust us to be the first ones to deliver the news to them,” Webb says.

Stay tuned to the country’s only 24/7 news channel ANC at SkyCable channel 27 this October. Don’t miss “Pipol” every Monday at 9:30 pm. Catch “Mornings@ANC” at 9 am and “Dateline Philippines” at 12 nn on weekdays, and “Primetime on ANC” at 8 pm on weeknights. daily.
