341: Pinky Webb, Ces Drilon get new shows on ANC

ABS-CBN News

MANILA, Philippines – As part of ABS-CBN News Channel's 15th anniversary, the 24/7 news channel formally announced its new programs and segments.

ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs head and ANC director Ging Reyes welcomed the press and guests.

“This is part of our effort to continue to improve our content offerings on ANC. As you are probably aware by now, we are celebrating our 15th year,” said Reyes.
A new "Mornings @ ANC" will greet your day with the dynamic team of Ron Cruz, Ginger Conejero, Paolo Abrera and Pinky Webb hosting the show.

“I’ll be doing Mornings @ ANC, tapos I’m going to be a reporter for channel 2. Of course I’ll still be doing XXX and I think I’ll be doing another show,” said Webb.
With her busy schedule, Webb said she doesn’t have the time for her love life.
“Ngayon, wala,” she said.

If there's a saying that news never sleeps, there's no lunch break for news on “Dateline Philippines”, anchored by TJ Manotoc and former ABS-CBN Australia Bureau Chief Gigi Grande.

“I’m so excited. It is such a big score for me, I think. By the time we get to Dateline Philippines at 12 noon, everything will be put in context and it will be easier for us to tell the story of what’s going on,” said Grande.

In the evening time slot, "Primetime on ANC" will be anchored by Tony Velasquez and former North America correspondent Karmina Constantino.

“It’s good to be back. It’s nice to see all the familiar faces and all these talents na nag-progress and nag-improve,” said Constantino.

“The real test of a news channel is how much stamina and perseverance you put into following a story. We’ll never drop a story until we find out what the conclusion is and you’ll never get lost. You will also see the story unfolding from hour to hour, minute to minute. For the social media-savvy out there, you will be able to follow us through ANCAlerts, you will get real time updates from the interviews that we are airing, as well as from upcoming stories,” said Velasquez.

An ABS-CBN original "Pipol" with Ces Oreña-Drilon is making a comeback on ANC, digging deep into the persona of today's newsmakers.

“Masaya ako dahil na-miss ko ang Pipol at maraming fans ang Pipol. Kaya lang ang nakakatawa ang mga fans ng Pipol ay high school pa noon, ngayon nagtatrabaho na. Nakakatuwa kasi sa tagal na nawala ang Pipol, maraming personalidad ang hindi na-feature sa Pipol, so pagkakataon na natin ito na makita ang kanilang buhay,” said Drilon.

Drilon revealed a subject she wants to have on the show.

“Nabasa ko ang kanyang talambuhay sa isang magazine, talagang grabe. Hanggang ngayon taga-hanga ako ni Nora [Aunor],” she said.

Teddy Locsin Jr. will give his "Teditorial" every night on "The World Tonight".
Catch the new look of the ABS-CBN News Channel on Monday, October 10.
